I’m conducting a survey to gather input on the use of LGBTQ+ terminology in the context of history education. Educators sometimes find tension between wanting to use historically accurate terminology and acknowledging that the terminology may be outdated or even offensive today.
I am looking for feedback from all ages, gender identities, sexual orientations, and life experiences. This anonymous survey will help inform educators on how to use more inclusive, respectful, and accurate terminology when they teach about LGBTQ+ history. It has a total of 11 multiple choice questions and 5 optional short-answer questions. It takes approximately 5-7 minutes to complete. All answers are anonymous. The data will be aggregated and used for educational purposes.
